HYANNIS – Last Thursday there was an impromptu protest/disturbance when some of the homeless learned they were no longer allowed to shower at the NOAH Shelter on Winter Street. Click here to review HN’s initial coverage of that situation…
Today, HN had the opportunity to speak with John Klasavich, currently homeless, to gain some insights and perspective on the homeless situation as it relates to the downtown area.

Actual C.O.MM. press statement (“Facts upon arrival”):
COMM Fire Department received a 911 call for a reported shed fire at 23 Old Farm Road Centerville from a passerby. Reported as shed fire within 15 feet of main house. Units responded from the Centerville, Osterville and Marstons Mills Fire Stations. Upon location we found a 6’X10’ shed approximately 25% involved. Fire quickly extinguished by fire department personel, no extension to the main house. No injuries. Fire is currently under investigation.

In other news:
HYANNIS – The road needed to be closed for a period of time as C.O.MM. and Hyannis Firefighters quickly knocked down a deck fire at a house on Strawberry Hill Road earlier in the afternoon.
The heat and dry conditions may be responsible for many of small fires throughout the region in recent days…
