LEWD BEHAVIOR DOCUMENTED FOR POLICE: Man arrested after acting out...

HYANNIS – Witnesses were shocked and disgusted last evening prior to calling the cops. HN arrived just before police and immediately began capturing the offensive lewd behavior on camera.

A man was publicly acting out sexually while seated on a bench in front of the Star Laundromat at 489 Bearses Way.

Nearby witnesses, both male and female, shocked by the disturbing behavior, started taking cell phone video and immediately called police. The witnesses who were subjected to the crude spectacle were only about 100 feet away, and just out of HN camera frame.

The following video has the highly offensive parts edited out, but shows the suspect quickly stopping his indecent behavior once noticing a police officer approaching. The video illustrates he knew his behavior was inappropriate.

The crime took place in the busy shopping plaza at the intersection Route 28 and Bearses Way. It was in the middle of a family neighborhood. Adults and children in the area could have easily been exposed to the disturbing lewd behavior.

The man was arrested and was still in Barnstable Police custody at the time of this report.

The raw uncut HN footage was immediately given to the investigating officers as evidence. Police are carefully reviewing HN and witness footage, and will be charging the man with the appropriate level of crimes relating to the degree of criminal elements and level of intent. One of the charges will likely be Lewd and Lascivious Conduct, sources say.
