“Like someone in love…” [HN Photos]

HN NOTES:
Working the overnights for the past ten years, I’ve come to know downtown Hyannis in a way most “day-trippers” do not ever get a chance to see. In the early morning hours, I’m reminded of a wonderful childhood spent on these streets ever since the 1960s to the present; the wonderful people who have come and gone. The wonderful sights and sounds; the wonderful old streets and the new ones I once helped pave by directing traffic back in the day; the buildings, movies theaters, and food markets that have come to pass, these things all present themselves like friendly ghosts during the overnight. Most of the time there’s an overwhelming sense of peace which has been my biggest, most well-kept secret. Please don’t tell anyone.
Many of you are just waking up at the time of this report, around 6:00 a.m., give or take. Many of you will get dressed, ready, and head out on these very same streets as you go about your day. There will be traffic, noise, and other challenges to maneuver through, and I wish I could share with you the sense of relaxation I have during the early morning hours on these very same streets, but I can’t. That would be impossible. All I can do is share a couple of photos and wish everyone a very safe and splendiferous day.
‘k, bye! 😉
