*** LISTEN *** WOMAN WANTED ON SIX WARRANTS TRIED TO RUN, DIDN’T GET FAR

HYANNIS – Yesterday afternoon in the vicinity of Charles Street, Barnstable Police Patrolwoman Kristina Gustafson spotted a Hyannis woman wanted on six warrants. According to radio transmissions, the woman initially tried to run away, but didn’t get far. In the following HN Video, Officer Gustafson can be heard announcing quickly catching up to the woman about a block away, near the intersection of Charles Street and Washington Ave.
According to radio transmissions, and as you will hear in the following HN Video, there were six straight arrest warrants in hand for:
1. B&E Nighttime for Felony,
2. B&E Misdemeanor,
3. Leaving the Scene of Property Damage,
4. Rape / Indecent A&B on a Disabled Person / Larceny Over $250 from person 60+ or Disabled / Sexual Conduct for a Fee,
5. B&E Misdemeanor,
6. Violating a Prevention Order
According to Lt. Mark Mellyn of the BPD, in addition to the warrants, Ms. Ashley was charged with Possession of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine).
Barbara J. Ashley, 39, of Hyannis was arrested and transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking on the alleged crack cocaine and all six warrants (two of which were felonies).
The arrest had been self-initiated by Gustafson, who is familiar with Ms. Ashley and had knowledge of her warrants prior to arresting her, according to Lt. Mellyn.
