HN Video: Man seriously injured after pinned under boat that fell...

BARNSTABLE – As you will see in the following HN Video, at about 4:27PM, first responders rushed to 118 Thornton Drive after a man was pinned under a boat that had fallen on him.

Bystanders were able to lift a piece of boat, estimated to be at least 300 lbs, off of the patient.

The patient was estimated to be a 35-year-old male who was suffering from head trauma, cuts, and other injuries. He was reportedly conscious when rescue arrived…

A Medflight helicopter was requested… but later canceled due to weather. An ambulance eventually transported the patient from the scene directly to Cape Cod Hospital.

According to sources, workers were using a piece of machinery to load a boat, which was already in two pieces, from a boat trailer up onto a truck flatbed when something went wrong. A large piece of the boat reportedly fell off the opposite side the truck, striking one of the workers and pinning him underneath.

Barnstable Police are investigating the incident.
