Mavado rocks Pufferbellies on an otherwise quiet HyTown Monday night… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – Hyannis News met and spent some time filming Mr. David Constantine Brooks of Kingston Jamaica last night at Pufferbellies.
Brooks, better known by his stage name Mavado, is a well known Jamaican singer, musician, actor, and music producer.
Despite the rest of town being quiet, Pufferbellies was packed with a Monday night crowd of Mavado fans.
The evening was a tremendous success, as everyone seemed to enjoy themselves in peaceful light hearted manner.
The crowd was made up of Hyannis residents of many different ages and backgrounds, especially numerous longtime Jamaican Mavado fans. For people originally Jamaica, Mavado’s appearance was extra special.
HN was able to film the performance from up on stage and had a unique perspective of people cutting loose and enjoying themselves.
The event was well organized and safe for all who attended.
For Pufferbellies, a club which has seen its share of violence in past years, the new security structure and paid police officers at these events has made a positive difference.
HN has been to Pufferbellies twice this summer and found both events to be well organized both inside, as well as outside in the parking lots.
The new efforts are a welcomed step in the right direction. Young people need a place to dance without a few thugs ruining the party for everyone.
The following video highlight’s Mavado’s entrance and parts of his performance. I didn’t understand all the words, but I did understand the smiles on the people’s faces. [Press play]
