Mother critically injured… son airlifted to trauma center… [VIDEO]
OSTERVILLE – [DEVELOPING] According to initial unofficial reports, one source describes the 51-year-old female patient as being critically injured, her son, approximately age 27, was airlifted with life-threatening injuries as well.
The mother was taken to CCH…
At about 1:45AM, police arrived at the scene of a single car crash at 162 Main Street. The first officer on scene encountered the male passenger. He told the officer his mother was also in the wreckage. The officer immediately requested for rescue to “step it up” as he initiated CPR on the female patient.
After rescue arrived, the female’s condition was described as “Code 99.” Which indicates cardiac arrest…
A Barnstable Police accident reconstruction expert was summoned to the scene. A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit was also called to take photos.
The following is the actual COMM FD press statement:
COMM Fire Received a call from the BPD reporting a crash with injuries and responded with 2 ambulances and 1 engine company. Upon our arrival we found one vehicle with significant damage in front of 162 Main Street, Osterville. There were 2 adult victims involved, 1 male, 1 female. Both had possible life threatening injuries. The female victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital and the male victim was transported to Marstons Mills Airport to meet a Medflight helicopter and flown to Rhode Island trauma center.
At this point, it remains uncertain who was behind the wheel.
The accident is being investigated by the Barnstable Police Department.
