NANTUCKET ANIMAL SHELTER TRYING TO LOCATE OWNER OF CAT THAT SNUCK OVER ON FERRY FROM HYANNIS…
UPDATE: According to the staff at Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals, the stowaway kitty described below may actually be one of the feral cats often seen hanging around the Hyannis Steamship Authority terminal… so, she might not be anyone’s lost cat after all…
NANTUCKET, Massachusetts – On their Facebook page, the Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals shelter posted the following yesterday:
FOUND CAT: Does anyone recognize this little girl? 4-5 months old, found on the Steamship hiding and came over from Hyannis. We think she must have hidden herself in someone’s car and came out once they got on the boat! She was covered in fleas and car grease so she has gotten a bath. Please call us at 508-825-2287 Ext. 1 if this is your cat.
HN spoke with Stacy from Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals yesterday and learned they believe the cat is not feral and has an owner someplace. But as of right now it’s unknown where that owner may be. The stowaway kitty somehow boarded the ferry in Hyannis and made it all the way over to Nantucket, but whether the kitty is actually from Hyannis or someplace beyond still remains a mystery.
