*** NEW VIDEO *** POLICE TAKEDOWN RELATED TO ALLEGED HYANNIS HOME INVASION
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police are investigating an alleged armed home invasion that reportedly happened in their town sometime Thursday evening, and wasn’t actually reported until Friday, December 16, 2022.
Since this past Friday, and as you will see in the following video, a Hyannis News reader has sent in cellphone footage of a high-risk traffic stop and apparent arrest in relation to the alleged home invasion.
The HN Video also contains radio transmissions related to the alleged home invasion and traffic stop. Several hours after the alleged incident had been reported, detectives and officers began following a vehicle on the mid-Cape highway. It is believed the BMW SUV they were following contained a person related to the alleged home invasion. And that person was reported to be likely armed with a firearm.
The following high-risk traffic stop was conducted Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Independence Drive and Mary Dunn Road. At least one individual was taken into custody.
HN spoke with Barnstable Police Officials this past Friday and was informed they are still actively investigating the incident.
No other details (precise location, circumstances, etc.) have been officially confirmed at this point. HN is actively trying to track down information and will update this report with official details as soon as they are able to be released. [DEVELOPING]
