NEW YEARS EVE MORNING REPORT: No drunk driving arrests so far today across Mid-Cape…
NOTES – HN contacted dispatchers and sources at the following Mid-Cape law enforcement agencies inquiring whether there had been any OUI arrests so far today, beginning at midnight…
And here is what they have reported so far as of 6:15AM:
BARNSTABLE POLICE – None
YARMOUTH POLICE – None
MASHPEE POLICE – (Dispatcher was unable to cooperate)
SANDWICH POLICE – None
HARWICH POLICE – None
DENNIS POLICE – None
YARMOUTH STATE POLICE BARRACKS – None
That’s an excellent start! Please lets keep it that way across Cape Cod.
Please have zero tolerance for drinking and driving. (Including doing drugs and driving…)
There are Taxi and Uber drivers (sober more often than not) out there who will take you home for a relatively small fee. In Yarmouth, the police have a program where you can call Town Taxi and they will drive you home for free…
There is no excuse to put lives in danger by drinking and getting behind the wheel.
In many cases, just a small amount of alcohol can put you over the limit. So, the best policy is to not gamble with self-field-sobriety testing and other types of home-grown buffoonery.
It’s never too late to smarten up!
