PLYMOUTH – The dramatic chase that ended in Plymouth Harbor began shortly after midnight, taking officers through the historic streets near Plymouth Rock before ending at the the water’s edge – East Bay Boat Ramp on Water Street. The suspect and believed sole occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody… [DEVELOPING]
The following HN Video highlights the Plymouth Police Department radio transmissions as the chase unfolded. The video then shows the scene a short while after the suspect had been taking into custody… where the vehicle was last seen, marked by a buoy place floating above the submerged vehicle by the Plymouth Harbor Master. The video also shows a Souza’s Towing operator setting up to yank the suspect’s vehicle out of the harbor… but the Harbor Master decided it would be best to wait for low tide… and low tide is not expected until approximately 10:00 a.m., later this morning.
Also, according to police radio transmissions, the vehicle likely contains hazardous materials that need to be handled with care. (An unofficial source tells HN the suspect may have been covered with Fentanyl… but that has not been officially confirmed…). HN will provide official updates as they become available…
