HYANNIS – Barnstable Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Mitchells Way and Pitchers Way.

A member of the Barnstable Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation unit arrived to photograph damage on the suspect vehicle, along with the front bumper that was located back on the side of Route 28, between the crash scene and 42 Bishops Terrace.
The Barnstable Police Officer investigating the crash requested an accident number, along with an arrest number, according to radio transmissions. At the time of the report the suspected hit-and-run driver has not been located. Officers have the name of the suspect… and it remains uncertain why he fled the scene…
