Police investigating why SUV drove into stone wall a couple hours after Patriots Super Bowl victory…
WEST BARNSTABLE – Barnstable Police are investigating what caused an SUV to drive into a stone wall at the end of Soft Shell Lane this morning.
Police and rescue were called to the crash scene at about 12:15 a.m., just a couple hours after the Patriots won the Super Bowl…
A caller alerted responding cruisers that the driver appeared to be walking away from the crash, and that he appeared possibly intoxicated.
As you will see in the following HN Video, the driver was sitting on the ground at the crash scene when HN arrived and started rolling on video.
Rescue arrived and secured the driver on a stretcher for injuries that did not appear life-threatening. He was eventually transported to CCH.
Barnstable Police also responded to CCH to investigate whether the driver was impaired when he crashed into the wall.
A Barnstable County Sheriff’s crime scene photographer also responded to document the scene.
There are no further details at the time of this report and HN will provide updates as they become available.
