DENNIS – A baby entered the world on its own timetable last evening after an inbound Provincetown ambulance reportedly had to suddenly pull over and deliver a baby during a steady rainfall on the Mid-Cape Highway somewhere westbound between Exits 9B and 9A, according to police and fire department radio transmissions.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., Dennis Firefighters and police were en-route to assist the two Provincetown ambulance workers and mother when they were suddenly updated they could disregard, the baby had already been delivered. The Provincetown ambulance no longer needed assistance and was reportedly able to manage the rest of the way to Cape Cod Hospital on its own.
HN tried to get into position in time to gather footage of the miraculous event, but baby was apparently operating on a much faster timetable…
… the above is an HN Image of the Cape Cod Hospital tunnel shortly after baby, mom, and ambulance workers arrived at the emergency room to be checked out to make sure everything was okay.
There was no further information about last evening’s ‘Mid-Cape Highway Baby’ at the time of this report, only what could be gathered via radio transmissions and other confidential sources… but HN will provide official updates if and when they become available.
Best wishes and congratulations to everyone involved!
