*** WATCH *** QUESADILLA EVIDENCE FOUND AT BOTH SCENES:...

HYANNIS – According to police sources, there was similar quesadilla evidence found at both scenes!

At around 8:30 p.m. last evening, Barnstable Police responded to the Cromwell Court Apartments after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had just shattered her apartment window.

Investigating officers found and photographed several cheese quesadillas in a Styrofoam container on the ground next to shattered glass from the broken apartment window. The quesadillas were made with flour tortillas (and not the traditional corn tortillas).

Upon further investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest the woman’s ex-boyfriend and they began searching around town for the suspect’s white pickup truck. As you will see in the following HN Video, about 20 minutes later, officers located the suspect’s vehicle parked outside of the Dollar General store on West Main Street. The suspect was seated inside his pickup truck next to a young woman. Despite reportedly not initially wanting to open the truck’s door, the suspect eventually decided it a good idea to be a team player, cooperate and go along peacefully with officers.

Joseph Tucker, 38, was arrested and charged with Injury to Real and Personal Property.

On the ground outside of the truck, officers photographed several quesadilla scraps. Inside of the truck were styrofoam containers, similar to the one found outside of the broken window at Cromwell Courts. Officers noted that the tortilla remnants outside of the truck appeared to also be made of flour (and not the traditional corn tortillas), and similar in overall appearance to the quesadillas discovered at the initial crime scene. It was also noted that the melted cheese fillings at both scenes were of the same color and texture, according to investigators. And it’s still uncertain who actually prepared the quesadillas, but it appeared to be a professional job… possibly from a nearby restaurant or taco stand.

Also, it’s uncertain whether the quesadillas were actually used to break the window, or whether they will prove to be valuable pieces of evidence in this particular case, but officers felt it important to note their presence at both the crime and arrest scenes, nonetheless.

In a seemingly unrelated matter, Joseph Tucker was photographed by HN as he was being arrested earlier in the week for a motor vehicle offense. His license was reportedly suspended at the time, and it’s uncertain if he was in possession of any Mexican food during that earlier police encounter. (HN photo below)
