ROLLED: Suspicious coins and banded cash spilled onto the ground… 19-year-old male arrested for OUI… transported to CCH for evaluation… [HN VIDEO]
DENNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, police seized wads of loose and banded cash and coins that had spilled onto the ground after a vehicle rolled onto to its side last evening.
At about 10:45 PM, Dennis Police and Firefighters responded to the area of the Dennis Public Market on Route 6A after a Toyota Avalon crashed into a stone wall and rolled over.
A 19-year-old male driver was transported to CCH for evaluation. The driver will also be charged with OUI according to sources at the scene.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit arrived to take photos and assist with the collection of cash and coins that had spilled onto the ground through a smashed sun roof after the vehicle had landed on its side.
The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office also broadcast an announcement on behalf of the Dennis Police Department, seeking information about whether any Cape Cod area police departments covered a breaking and entering into a business where rolls of banded cash and alcohol were taken…
The investigation was active and ongoing at the time of this report, with officers checking local businesses for signs of a break, trying to determine whether any additional crimes had been committed relating to the suspicious spilled contents from the overturned vehicle…
