*** WATCH *** Female “passenger” eventually taken to CCH after leaving Route 6 crash scene in another vehicle… [HN VIDEO]
SANDWICH – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, Massachusetts State Police and Sandwich Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 6 westbound last evening (Friday evening/Saturday morning, 9/25/2020) around midnight. The vehicle was heavily damaged and there was airbag deployment, with crash debris scattered across a highway travel lane. The first officers on scene found an empty vehicle. A witness reportedly told officers that the driver and passenger were picked up in another vehicle, leaving the scene by traveling eastbound on Route 6. State troopers checked on addresses in South Yarmouth, looking for the occupants, or additional clues as to where they may be… Later in the morning, troopers located both the “driver” and “passenger” at an address in Marstons Mills. The female in her early 20s was said to be experiencing head and chest pain, and was transported in an ambulance from Marstons Mills to Cape Cod Hospital for further evaluation. The male declined further medical attention.
It’s uncertain why the pair abandoned the crashed vehicle on Route 6. HN has reached out to the State Police media relations for additional details. It’s uncertain whether charges will be filed, etc… HN will provide official updates as they become available. (HN NOTE: For the time being, parts of the call audio and video have been edited out, pending additional information…)
UPDATE: According to Sergeant Paul Sullivan of the Massachusetts State Police, a 21-year-old male from Marstons Mills has been issued a summons for operating with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. The passenger who was eventually transported to CCH turned out to have injuries that were described as minor.
