Sandwich police investigating rollover into ditch which sent one person to CCH… [HN VIDEO]
EAST SANDWICH – Sandwich Police are investigating a rollover crash into a ditch which sent the driver to CCH early this morning…
… and had the investigating officer requesting an arrest number when all was said and done.
As you will see in the following HN Video, Sandwich police and firefighters responded to the early morning crash scene which happened in the area of 406 Route 6A.
The vehicle flew off the roadway through fencing, brush, and trees, landing in a ditch with a stream running through it. (Luckily the vehicle did not make it all the way into the stream.)
The driver was transported just prior to HN arriving on scene.
A member of the Barnstable Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit documented the scene with photos, while a Sandwich Patrolman made measurements along the roadway in the direction of the crash.
As you will see in the video, it was difficult removing the vehicle from the ditch and one of the cables broke on one of the flatbed trucks. A second truck arrived and Route 6A was briefly closed down completely as tow truck drivers were finally able to winch the wreck up and out.
The following HN Video highlights the scene…
