Shotgun wielding female alarms neighborhood…
Hyannis – At least 8 law enforcement officers (from the FBI, Barnstable PD, Yarmouth PD, State PD, and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office…) raced to Hinckley Road Saturday night for a report of a woman “patrolling” the streets with a shotgun…
… it turned out to be a toy shotgun.
But the fact it turned out to be a toy after all really didn’t matter to responding officers.
The call went out as a woman in her 40s with “…issues” possibly with a shotgun in the middle of a family neighborhood. Needless to say, police were coming and it wasn’t to play patty-cakes.
Hyannis News arrived in the area just as officers were clearing the airway, stating the weapon in question was actually a plastic toy.
Sure, the above photo shows officers with smiles after the call. But I can guarantee you those weren’t the same faces they had moments earlier.

Cops in Hyannis respond to similar stressful calls on a daily basis.
The female’s toy shotgun and other toy weapons were confiscated for safe keeping. The woman was warned about her behavior.
Neighbors were left standing saying “WT[bleep].”
