SINGLE CAR CRASH: Two young lives saved by modern vehicle safety features…
Centerville – Two young women are very lucky to be alive after the car they were driving in crashed and took down a full grown oak tree…
At about 11:40pm last night, police received reports of a single car accident where a Mercedes station wagon crashed into a tree on Huckins Neck Road…
A resident of 134 Huckins Neck Road called police after being suddenly awakened by the loud crash…
A mature oak tree was knocked down during the collision and was laying across the road…
Telephone and cable wires were also knocked down…
It was originally reported that the car may have been on fire… it turned out to be just smoke from the engine, not a fire…
Both young females were amazingly seen walking around and speaking with first responders…
It was a good thing they were driving in a modern fully-equipped station wagon, loaded with airbags and other safety features… The Mercedes E350 wagon is equipped with ‘two-stage’ front airbags, a driver-side knee airbag, front passenger pelvic airbags, side curtains, and side airbags…
A COMM Fire Department ambulance responded and evaluated both females, who remarkably presented no apparent signs of injuries…
