SLOW SPEED PURSUIT: Woman arrested after allegedly failing to stop for police… [HN AUDIO/VIDEO]
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at about 3:40 a.m., a plainclothes police officer in an unmarked police unit attempted to stop a white Nissan Altima on Barnstable Road in the area of Cromwell Courts. A computer check revealed that the registered owner may possibly have warrants, according to radio transmissions.
Seconds after calling in the initial stop, the officer radioed that the driver was failing to yield.
There was a brief ‘slow speed pursuit,’ with speeds ranging from ten to twenty miles per, in steady rain, and light traffic, until the vehicle finally pulled over and stopped in front of Wendy’s on Route 132.
The female driver and a female passenger were immediately detained in handcuffs and placed in separate squad cars.
According to sources and radio transmissions, the female driver was transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters where she was expected to booked on the charge of Failing to Stop for a Police Officer.
The female passenger (the one wearing the black sweatshirt in the video) was not charged and eventually given a courtesy ride home by officers.
At the time of this report, it is believed the female driver was not the person who actually had the warrants associated with the vehicle’s registration. It remains uncertain what may have caused the driver to allegedly not stop for officers.. The white Altima was towed from the scene.
