SPEEDWAY DRAMA: Confrontation over gas station window wash leads to allegations of “body slam” and punch thrown by attendant… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – HN NOTES:
These things occasionally happen in a place like Hytown, violence and unrest arising from a misunderstanding over windshield wash, ordinarily considered a standard gas station freebee… until possibly now.
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at about 9:45PM last evening, police and rescue rushed to the Speedway gas station on the corner of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road after receiving reports of an ongoing fight between an employee and two patrons.
Hyannis Rescue responded because one of the female patrons was said to have been “body slammed” and was still on the ground, possibly not responsive or maybe even unconscious.
HN arrived and observed the female sitting next to a gas pump, obviously conscious at that point, speaking with rescue workers. She was evaluated in the back of a ambulance, but did not need to be transported to hospital.
Police spoke with all parties involved, including the two females and a relatively large male gas station employee. According to sources, both sides had differing accounts of what actually had happened.
The alleged female victims approached HN and told their side of the story. One woman says she was using the free windshield wash and complimentary squeechee to clean her windshield. Everything was peaceful and going fine until she decided to use the windshield wash to also clean off her headlights – and that’s when all hell broke loose, according to the female.
While cleaning her headlamps, someone from inside the store allegedly took offense, yelling out at her that she should go to a car wash, implying she was taking advantage of window wash privileges, calling her a “bum…”
According to the two alleged victims, things then descended into a violent altercation with the gas station attendant. One woman saying she was punched in the face… the other describing how she was either body slammed or else somehow knocked to the ground.
Because of conflicting stories, police are still investigating whether they are dealing with a simple assault or perhaps something more serious. No arrests were made at the time of this report and officers are planning on reviewing the store video footage tomorrow.
Also note that HN was only able to hear from the two females and did not get to hear the employee’s side of the story. All individuals in last night’s incident are presumed innocent until otherwise charged and found guilty of a crime. [DEVELOPING]
