Stang in the trees: Yarmouth police investigating early morning crash [HN photos]

YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS — A young adult male driving a Mustang GT 5.0 lost control around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and crashed into the woods near the Route 6 westbound off-ramp on Union Street.
Yarmouth police found the driver waiting outside the sports car. He appeared uninjured but was evaluated by Yarmouth firefighters as a precaution due to airbag deployment. Firefighters then used a chainsaw to cut away scrub oaks so a flatbed tow truck could reach the wreck.
It remains uncertain what caused the driver to lose control. No arrest was made, and the Yarmouth Police Department is investigating the crash. No further details were available when Hyannis News reached out early Sunday morning.
