Suspicious male selling puppies out of duffel bag…
Hyannis – Cops would like to have a word with a suspicious male out on the street selling puppies out of a duffel bag.
Barnstable Police were dispatched to a report of a suspicious black male selling puppies out of a dark colored duffel bag in front of the Hyannis Convenience Store next to Dunkin Donuts at the intersection of Main Street and Sea Street.
According to witnesses, a “tall” black male was trying to sell very tiny puppies to a woman when she became alarmed and worried that the pups were too small to be apart from their mother. She took a photo and entered a local shop where she called police.
A Barnstable Police patrol car was dispatched, along with Barnstable Animal Control, yet they were unable to locate the suspicious male. After a brief inquiry and search, officials were still unable to locate the male and the puppies.
One witness did mention the male was familiar to her, and it was not the first time she had observed him with the puppies hanging out in the area.
Please call Barnstable Police or Animal Control with any additional information regarding this incident.
