THAT WON’T BUFF OUT: SUV ‘goes airborne’ after hitting railroad ties and Cape Cod Auto Body sign… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – A witness told HN he saw the SUV suddenly leave the roadway and go “airborne” after striking some railroad ties and a sign out in front of Cape Cod Auto Body.
The vehicle had heavy body damage as a result of the crash.
The young male driver was evaluated by Hyannis Rescue but did not need further treatment and was not transported.
He was not intoxicated, but he was given a citation for speeding and other motor vehicle charges.
Barnstable Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Speed and “distracted driving” are not beyond the realms of possibility… which could involve criminal charges being included on the citation.
