Took off in landscaping truck & trailer after allegedly pulling gun… [UPDATED 4/29 @ 2:40PM][VIDEO]
At 8:26pm all hell broke loose in South Yarmouth…
Dispatcher: “All units start heading towards Old Town House Road and Station Ave… person was just held up by a gun… stand by for more information…
“It’s going to be in front of Longfellow’s…
“Suspect vehicle is a red pickup truck with a trailer… has fog lights on it… took off and took a right onto Forest…
“Suspect is a white male wearing a baseball hat and a trimmed beard… possibly in his late 40s…
“[Victim] said that the suspect rolled down his window, pulled up to her vehicle and stated, ‘Don’t ever let me see you in my neighborhood again.’”
Just minutes later, dispatch informed Yarmouth squad cars that three state troopers had the suspect vehicle stopped about a mile and half away on Route 28 in front of the McDonald’s restaurant…
The victim and another witness was transported from the Longfellow’s parking lot to a parking lot next to the traffic stop so they could identify the suspect…
The suspect was then transported back to Yarmouth Police Headquarters for booking…
Unofficial sources believe the suspect will likely face an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon charge…
A police radio transmission mentioned a record check showed the suspect was not wanted on outstanding warrants… and that he did not have a criminal record to speak of…
Meanwhile, a K-9 and patrol officers searched the area along Forest Road for the weapon…
Police also searched and towed the truck and landscaping equipment…

4/29/2014 – 2AM UPDATE: According to YPD sources, the suspect was released on $40 cash bail and is expected to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court later this morning on the charge of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon…
Police were unable to locate a firearm and the actual existence of a firearm remains unsubstantiated…
4/29/2014 – 2:40PM UPDATE: The man accused of pointing a black handgun and threatening to kill a woman and her daughter during a road rage incident has been identified as Chad A. Hathaway, age 35, of South Yarmouth…
Police release states, “according to the woman the suspect threatened her stating he would ‘kill her if he ever saw her in his neighborhood again’ while pointing a black handgun at them.”

DOB: 10/19/1978
Charges: ASSAULT WHILE ARMED WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON (HANDGUN)

Loaded 40 caliber handgun found in middle of street…
Hyannis – Several BPD officers responded to the corner of Barnstable Road and Dynaflow Drive, next to the Land Rover dealership, when an employee of Davis Towing discovered a handgun lying in the middle of the road this morning…
The handgun had a fully loaded magazine but did not have a round in the chamber. It was described as a small 40 caliber automatic, which was well cared for and oiled… it was found in a good quality newer holster…
The weapon was placed in a red evidence bag and brought back to police headquarters for processing…
Police are investigating and Hyannis News will provide updates as they become available…

Jack Kennedy needed a lift home from the bus station…
At about 11:58pm, a Barnstable Police patrol car was dispatched to the Hyannis Transportation Center to assist a man who suddenly announced to the world that he was John Fitzpatrick Kennedy… as he was standing outside and asking people for a ride to “The Compound…”
A couple of squad cars searched the area and were unable to locate Mr. Kennedy.
No word on whether or not our hero eventually made it back to his own private Camelot…
