TWO TRANSPORTED AFTER RTE. 6 CRASH… [HN PHOTOS]

SANDWICH – At least two people had to be transported to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Route 6 last evening.
At around 11:20 p.m., state troopers and Sandwich Police responded to what was initially reported as a three-vehicle crash westbound. (Upon arrival, HN only observed two crashed vehicles.) The crash turned out to be on the eastbound side of the highway, right at the Exit 63 ramps to and from Chase Road.
HN observed an adult male with a head laceration. An off-duty police officer who arrived on scene on his way to work later advised there was at least one child in one of the wrecks. Ambulances responded from the Sandwich and West Barnstable Fire Departments. Two, possibly three, individuals were transported with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. (No further details regarding the crash victims were available at the time of this report.)
Extra Sandwich Firefighters were on scene to deal with spilled fluids, and to disconnect the battery in one of the vehicles.
The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
