Two women got into it inside popular downtown tapa joint… one left by stretcher… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – Shortly after midnight, a time when even the best of princesses turn into pumpkins, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue responded to inside of emBargo on Main Street for an altercation between two females.
EmBargo, historically known for its well dressed and well behaved weekday patrons, is the last place HN would expect to find a disturbance, especially during the week. It’s also the last place HN expects to find two grown women resorting to fisticuffs, which reportedly resulted in a aggressor being “knocked out.”
(Note: it remains uncertain whether someone actually lost consciousness, but according to at least one witness, that’s the way it went down…)
A HN camera was rolling when a middle aged female combatant came rolling out on a stretcher. She was down but still feisty, fists clenched, appearing as though she wanted to go another round. She can be heard in the following video telling medics that ranting and raving actually eases her pain.
In the words of Boston talk show host Howie Carr, it appeared as though at some point during the evening she may have “ingested a bad ice cube.”
She was quickly transported to CCH to hopefully get something else prescribed in place of the “ranting and raving” to ease her pain.

“C.S.I. Yarmouthport”
This morning Chief Frederickson stopped by the Taylor Bray Farm in Yarmouth port where a 9,000 year old investigation is underway. A group of volunteers led by Archaeologist Craig Chartier and Dig Coordinator Jack Duggan are in the midst of the third dig in recent years. The intention is to find evidence to establish the existence and lifestyles of Yarmouth’s inhabitants over the past 10,000 years.
The first day of the 2015 dig was a banner day for the TBF Archaeology Project when two of our volunteers discovered a rare Native American stone point. It is called a Taunton River Bifurcate Base point and our archaeologists make it to be 9000 + years old (Early Archaic). Taunton River points have been found in eastern Massachusetts but not on the Cape. The type is so old that it’s almost Paleo and that makes our professional archaeologists ecstatic.
And just to make the day better, the same test pit produced a fragment of a stone knife that our experts think may be an Agate Basin type which would make it Paleo. If it turns out to be an Agate Basin style tool which is another rare find. Later in the afternoon, a separate test produced an Atlantic point that’s probably 3500 years old (Transitional Archaic).
The archeologist who are working the site are all volunteers. Today there were students from Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School assisting with the dig.
The dig will continue weekdays until November 7th. Visitors are welcome to observe the project.
