VIDEO: Man hurt after splitting pole and bringing down live power lines…
MASHPEE – A male driver was sent to CCH after his truck tore through a utility pole and brought down live power lines before finally crashing into the Mashpee River Woodlands.
At about 7:34PM last evening, police and rescue rushed to the area of 202 Mashpee Neck Road for the single car crash into a telephone pole. Live wires were said to be down in the roadway…
First responders reported the driver (the only occupant) was already outside the vehicle when they arrived on scene.
The injured driver was transported to CCH in a Cotuit Rescue ambulance. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening…
Eversource Energy arrived to cut power and double check to make sure the area was safe.
There was a loss of power in the area while utility crews worked to replace the splintered pole.

OSTERVILLE – A local juvenile male wanted to settle an ongoing beef with another young man last evening, only he took things way too far, sources say…
At about 6:50PM last evening, police responded to an address in the area of Oak Street in West Barnstable after a parent called to report a violent and destructive attack on her son.
Her son’s truck reportedly had just been rammed by a vehicle full of angry youths. She told police that the youths had beat her son earlier before following him and crashing into his truck…
The juvenile male who had an ongoing beef, reportedly gathered three of his friends before confronting the woman’s son who had been out fishing alone at Joshua’s Pond.
Her son was allegedly punched about 20 times in the face. He was also reportedly kicked during the beating… but things didn’t end there at Joshua’s Pond…
A short while later, the four boys showed up and continued harassing the victim in the area of his home, where they also slammed their vehicle into his truck…
Police learned the aggressors had a heavily damaged vehicle with a flat tire and were sitting at the end of a nearby dead end street. Police responded and eventually arrested the lead suspect and alleged aggressor…
A Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigator took photos of the vehicle and other evidence before it was towed…
The victim was taken to CCH for treatment and further evaluation. His injuries were not considered life threatening.
The suspect, a local juvenile male, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Shod foot), Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Operating Recklessly as to Endanger.
