HYANNIS – According to sources, a driver suddenly having a medical emergency may have caused this crash on Route 132 yesterday afternoon.

At about 2:15PM, police and rescue, including two ambulances, responded to the crash which reportedly had injuries, according to Barnstable Police dispatchers who were able to actually see the scene from a window looking out in front of the station…

One of the drivers had reportedly been experiencing a medical emergency, some type of seizure, which may have actually caused the collision on the east side of the Rte. 132 intersection with Phinnys Lane.

Both patients were somewhat alert and breathing, and the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening prior to their transport to CCH.

Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.

As you will see in the following HN video, both vehicles ended up off the roadway and onto a bike path… there did not appear to be any major traffic delays.
