ORLEANS, Mass. – The driver of a Chevy pickup is looking at “many offenses” after rolling his truck over into the woods while apparently turning onto the Route 6 on-ramp heading west early this morning, according to radio transmissions and sources on scene.
As you will hear and see in the following HN Video, estimated speeds allegedly reached over 80 miles per hour when the pickup passed an Orleans Police patrolman, according to radio transmissions. The vehicle was then reportedly observed traveling west toward Brewster on Route 6A prior to turning right onto the westbound on-ramp towards Hyannis.
The pickup was heavily damaged, and the driver was very fortunate his injuries were not more serious than they were. The male was transported to Cape Cod Hospital and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Prior to being transported, the driver allegedly blew 0.156 on a portable breathalyzer test, according to a radio transmission. (Note: In Massachusetts is illegal to operate a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher.)
