UPDATE – BPD Press Release – November 13, 2023:
On Saturday November 11, 2023, 22 year old Tremaine Dillion of Brewster and 22 year old Kahleed Lewis of Brewster were arrested and charged with multiple firearms offenses stemming from a motor vehicle stop in Hyannis. At approximately 8:30pm officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of a black Hyundai. During the motor vehicle stop Dillion and Lewis attempted to flee the scene on foot. However, after a brief foot pursuit both subjects were taken into custody in a nearby neighborhood. A loaded 9mm pistol, that was equipped with a mounted light and laser sight, was located in the vehicle. Dillion and Lewis were transported to the Barnstable Police Department where they were booked on the following charges:
Carry a Firearm without a License, Carry Loaded Firearm without a License, Posses Large Capacity Firearm, Posses Lage Capacity Feeding Device, Possess Ammunition without an FID Card, Disorderly Conduct, and Possess Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Additionally Dillion was also charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Both Dillion and Lewis were held on $10,000 cash bail and are scheduled to be arraigned at the Barnstable District Court on Monday November 13, 2023.

HYANNIS, Massachusetts – Two men are in custody and a firearm is off the streets after a wild foot pursuit through a family neighborhood Saturday evening.
Barnstable Police patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop on a Hyundai Sonata at South Street and Sea Street around 9:00 p.m. last evening when two adult male passengers suddenly bailed and fled. Officers chased the two men through backyards for several blocks before taking at least one of them down at gunpoint, according to radio transmissions. Both males were quickly arrested and transported to BPD Headquarters for booking on a number of charges.
Back at the initial traffic stop, the female driver remained on scene and was detained in handcuffs for a period of time. She was eventually released from custody and issued a citation for motor vehicle offenses, according to sources on scene.
While searching the Hyundai Sonata, officers discovered a Ruger handgun on the floor behind the passenger seat. The firearm was photographed and seized as evidence.
Both of the young men taken into custody are looking at firearm charges related to seized handgun…
