*** WATCH *** FIVE TEENS FROM OFF-CAPE ARRESTED AT GUNPOINT ON MAIN STREET AFTER “TERRORISTIC THREATS” REPORTEDLY MADE
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, numerous police officers swarmed a traffic stop in front of the First Baptist Church on Main Street at the intersection of High School Road – the location of Sunday’s shooting – after receiving a report of someone possibly flashing a handgun at people in front of the Duck Inn Pub.
Five teenagers from off-Cape were removed from a vehicle at gunpoint during a traffic stop, as they were apparently just trying to leave the area. All five were detained. According to radio transmissions and sources, all five were teenagers, several not quite 18-years-old yet.
No handgun was found during the traffic stop. One of the teenagers had four past gun charges on his juvenile record, according to radio transmission. All five were arrested and charged with being minors in possession of alcohol. Two of the teens were arrested for making “Terroristic Threats,” allegedly in reference to a firearm. In Massachusetts, making serious violent threats (with firearms, explosives, etc.) is considered a felony, whether or not the violence actually occurred.
The following HN Video begins with officers taking down the suspects in the middle of Main Street. The video contains actual Barnstable Police radio transmissions.
