*** WATCH *** MAIN DRAG CLOSED AFTER OBJECTS REPORTEDLY THROWN AT VEHICLES FROM 3RD STORY WINDOW
HYANNIS – Main Street was closed down for a period of time last evening after a man allegedly began throwing things out an apartment window.
At around 9:46 p.m., a manager at Flashback Retro Arcade Bar & Grille called police stating someone was throwing objects out of a second story window at vehicles passing by (it ended up being the 3rd story). The caller believed the launched objects could possibly be rocks, according to radio transmissions.
Barnstable Police patrol officers arrived and took a male into custody. He was eventually transported to BPD Headquarters to be booked for Injury to Real or Personal Property.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit took photos of a number broken items in the street. He also documented damage from when the suspect allegedly went onto a balcony and continued to throw and destroy items. A parked vehicle was also photographed for damage allegedly related to the man’s angry outburst. According to a source on scene, the man’s behavior may have been fueled by alcohol. The suspect was eventually taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. [No further details were available at the time of this report.]
