*** WATCH *** MAN ALLEGEDLY PULLED KNIFE DURING HYANNIS NEIGHBORHOOD STREET FIGHT
HYANNIS — [HN NOTES & MULLINGS ON THE MATTER] – A few things come to mind whenever I run into this “street fighting” nonsense. First of all, stay in your freaking vehicle! If you have a beef you’re unable to let go of, put on your big boy pants and call the cops – it’s what they get paid for! Because the very last thing everyone needs during these complicated times is a couple of amped-up chimpanzees pounding on one another in the middle of a family neighborhood.
It was around 11 o’clock last night when the following nonsense went down. On a school night nonetheless! With nearby kids in bed trying to sleep!
Is anything sacred anymore?
Note to all misguided barbarians: “If you’re one of those creatures who’s unable to travel through Hyannis neighborhoods without engaging in petty arguments or coming to blows with random people, you need to be caged and sent to the nearest zoo. I’m sorry, I know that’s probably not a nice or “politically correct” thing to say these days, but the sanctity of Hyannis family neighborhoods needs to become a priority once again. And, by all means, barbaric behavior needs to come last once again. And while I’m on the subject, the entire Town of Barnstable government should consider themselves as “failing miserably” until every single child can have a safe childhood without being disturbed by out-of-control wandering morons. All town projects and spending should be put on hold until kids are able to sleep peacefully without wild primates acting up just footsteps from their bedrooms. The family neighborhoods need to be sacred ground like they once used to be, back in the days when we were governed by a far fewer number of leaders than we have now.”
But, once again, I digress…
As the story goes, and as you will see in the following HN Video, at around 11pm last evening, Barnstable Police received a call about people fighting in the middle of Jasmine Lane. HN was right around the corner and arrived prior to police. One man was on the pavement while another stood above him, holding him down while sporadically pummeling his head. There was also a woman standing there, yelling “STOP” while holding a broken umbrella.
The man who was being held down allegedly pulled a knife during the initial affray, prior to HN arriving on scene. Police arrived, investigated, and placed him under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
