MASHPEE POLICE MEDIA STATEMENT – 7/17/2024:

“We regret to report that the victim involved in the motor vehicle crash on July 12, 2024 on Route 151 has tragically died as a result of his injuries. He is identified as 28 year old Cotuit resident, Alexander C. Cincotta, and our deepest condolences go out to his family. The accident remains under investigation by the Mashpee Police Department as well as the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.”

*** WATCH *** MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH IN MASHPEE, AT LEAST 3 PATIENTS… MEDFLIGHT CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER

MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS – The crash happened on Rte. 151 near the intersection with Old Barnstable Rd. in Mashpee at around 8:30 p.m. There was entrapment and a woman down in the roadway, according to radio transmissions. The crash involved a pickup truck striking a couple of other vehicles before going head-on with a van.

MEDFLIGHT needed to be canceled due to weather conditions for the priority one patient. There were at least 3 patients, with one of them described as being in priority one condition with facial trauma.

Route 151 was shut down while officials worked the scene.
