*** WATCH *** THREE TRANSPORTED TO CCH AFTER SUV LANDS ON ITS ROOF… DRIVER ARRESTED FOR OUI… [NEW VIDEO]
WEST YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – Three individuals were transported to Cape Cod Hospital after an SUV landed on its roof early this morning, shortly after 2:00 a.m. The vehicle snapped a utility pole just prior to rolling over. All three were transported under trauma alerts. All three were banged up, but fortunately none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening. Two of the patients were described as being women in their twenties, according to radio transmissions. The driver was described as a 23-year-old female. The rear passenger was described as a 25-year-old female.
A Yarmouth Police Officer reportedly witnessed the crash happen. The investigating officer requested an accident report number, along with an arrest report number. (No further details at this time…)
Early morning traffic had to be rerouted as Route 28 needed to be completely shut down.
The upper part of the snapped utility pole was left hanging above the ground, supported by high-tension power lines. Power was knocked out for a large part of West Yarmouth.

NOTE: Some of the initial transmissions are garbled because HN was down Cape, responding to a search for a missing 88-year-old female in Chatham at the time of the West Yarmouth crash. ROLL OVER CRASH HAPPENS IN FRONT OF OFFICER, SENDS 3 TO HOSPITAL
WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. – Just before 2 a.m. Thursday morning, Yarmouth Police Officer Joshua Barber was patrolling Route 28 in West Yarmouth. It was then, a car travelling extremely fast, coming the opposite direction, left the road, crossed over the sidewalk and crashed through a utility pole sending it spinning onto its roof. The crash knocked out power to area residents. Officer Barber immediately radioed dispatch and advised of the crash.
As the officer approached the crash, two people emerged, complaining of injuries. The third person was trapped in the overturned vehicle and was assisted out by other responding officers. Route 28 was temporarily closed while responding crews worked the crash.
All parties were transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Yarmouth Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver has been charged with Operating Under the Influence.
