*** WATCH *** TEEN STABBED SEVERAL TIMES INSIDE CAPE COD MALL [JUVENILE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY * UPDATED DETAILS]
UPDATE – 2/21/23 @ 1AM – ACCORDING TO BARNSTABLE POLICE, A JUVENILE SUSPECT HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN RELATION TO THIS CRIME.
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING… SEE UPDATED DETAILS AFTER FOLLOWING VIDEO…] – At about 4 pm this afternoon – Monday, 2/20/23 – Barnstable Police responded to the Cape Cod Mall on the Route 132 side, for a report of a male trespassing. Moments later, police learned of a fight in front of Victoria Secret inside of the mall. A 17-year-old male was reportedly stabbed during that fight. The suspect fled the mall. Hyannis Rescue arrived and began treating the teen for what was described as at least four stab wounds, according to radio transmissions. The patient was eventually transported to the airport and airlifted to an off-Cape trauma center, according to a Hyannis Fire official. The main concern was blood loss, according to source on scene.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded and collected blood samples inside the main entrance to the Women’s Macys Department Store.
As you will see in the following HN Video, at about 15 minutes into the investigation, officers made contact with several juvenile males at the intersection of Route 28 and Danvers Way. It [was] believed one of the juveniles could [possibly] be the stabbing suspect. The three juveniles, along with their bicycles, were transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for questioning. They were not under arrest at the time of the following footage. UPDATE – 2/21/23 @ 1AM – ACCORDING TO BARNSTABLE POLICE, A JUVENILE SUSPECT HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN RELATION TO THIS CRIME.

February 21, 2023:
As a result of the investigation, a 15 year old male juvenile was identified as the suspect in this assault and was subsequently taken into custody. He was held on $5,000 cash bail pending arraignment in Barnstable Juvenile Court.
The victim was treated at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island and is expected to make a full recovery.

February 20, 2023:
On Monday February 20, 2023 at approximately 4:00pm Barnstable Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis for a report of an individual who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival Officers located a 17 year old male who had sustained multiple stab wounds in his upper torso. The victim was transported by Hyannis Fire Department to an awaiting MedFlight helicopter at the Barnstable Municipal Airport. The MedFlight helicopter transported him to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence Rhode Island for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. This investigation remains active and ongoing at this time. This assault was the result of an argument between the victim and suspect and does not appear random.
