HYANNIS, Massachusetts – According to a Barnstable Police report filed by Patrolman Kevin Shaw, a Hyannis woman will be charged with at least 3 criminal offenses after a high-speed pursuit Thursday morning. Patrolman Shaw also mentions that the Massachusetts State Police will also be seeking charges for offenses that occurred after their agency took over the pursuit.
According to Patrolman Shaw, the BPD is charging Desiree Belle Healy, 56, of Hyannis with Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign, Marked Lanes Violation, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Speeding, Failure to Stop for Police, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

HYANNIS, Massachusetts – [DEVELOPING] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit which began on Route 132 in Hyannis and ended after crossing the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne. The pursuit began after a Barnstable Police Officer tried to stop a Volkswagen Tiguan for allegedly blowing through at stop sign and speeding. The VW came back registered to a woman out of Hyannis, who was the driver leading officers on the pursuit. According to radio transmissions, the VW entered Route 6 westbound from Route 132. There was little to no traffic, and speeds were high, reaching 106 miles per hour at one point, according to radio transmissions. The state police joined the pursuit on Rte. 6. The pursuit continued westbound on Rte. 6 another 14 miles, giving state police time to set up tire deflation spikes in the area of the Sagamore Bridge. The fleeing vehicle hit the spikes and the pursuit eventually came to an end a short distance up Route 3 after crossing the Sagamore Bridge. A middle-aged woman was taken into custody without further incident. She was eventually transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation, according to radio transmissions… [DEVELOPING]
