*** WATCH *** YOUNG MAN SUFFERS MULTISYSTEM TRUAMA AFTER STRUCK BY VEHICLE IN DENNIS [UPDATED]

Peter Benson of the Dennis Police Department requesting any updates regarding developments, condition of the patient, and findings of the official investigation, etc… HN will forward these official updates to everyone if and when they are made available.
UPDATE FROM LT. BENSON – 5/12/2023,1:25PM:
“I received your voicemail message and as you are aware the Department did respond at 6:26 pm last evening to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Great Western Road at the intersection with Diamonds Path in South Dennis. The 25 year old male pedestrian was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries and beyond what my officers were told at the CCH ER last night, there is no update regarding the condition of the pedestrian. The vehicle operator remained at the scene following the crash and cooperated with
investigators.
The investigation will be ongoing by members of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Councils Accident Reconstruction team and normally take a while to complete based on the complexity of the investigation.”

INITIAL HN REPORT:
DENNIS – A young adult male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Great Western Road in the vicinity of Diamonds Path earlier this evening, at around 6:30 p.m.
The pedestrian is said to have suffered multisystem trauma, mostly to his head. Medflight was not flying due to weather and the patient was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. His injuries are believed to be serious.
An accident reconstruction specialist responded from the Harwich Police Department to document the scene. A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit also responded to take photos.
The condition of the patient is unknown at the time of this report.
The Dennis Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
