Hyannis – At 11:35am on Saturday, police responded to Hyannis Food Mart on Center Street for a fight where a knife was shown…
A food mart employee was confronted by a 43-year-old man regarding an ongoing disagreement…
An altercation ensued and the 43-year-old allegedly took out a knife…
There were no injuries, but after reviewing store video footage and talking to witnesses Patrolman Puntonio made an arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon to wit a knife…
Patrolwoman Parache assisted in the investigation by tracking down evidence behind a School Street address…
Police haven’t released the suspect’s name yet, but said he is originally from Jamaica and now lives in Dennis… He also reportedly works in Hyannis…

Centerville – Saturday afternoon, Barnstable Police and COMM Rescue responded to the parking lot of the 99 Restaurant for a man passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle…
(Finding OD victims passed out inside their motor vehicles is not uncommon in Barnstable in recent months…)
First responders located the man inside his PT Cruiser… they also noticed he was holding onto a syringe…
COMM Rescue workers treated the man and began to transport him to Cape Cod Hospital… While en route, police were notified and responded to a report the man had suddenly become combative inside the ambulance…
Note: In the battle against heroin ODs, first responders often administer Narcan. Narcan is an opioid antagonist that quickly reverses the effects of an overdose involving heroin or some other derivative of opium. According to EMTs, in certain situations it is possible for an overdose patient to become aggressive or violent while being treated with Narcan. This may happen for several reasons… sometimes it has been known to happen just because the patient was angry that EMTs suddenly ended their “high.”
