WEST BARNSTABLE – As you will see in the following HN Video, firefighters responded to the Oak Street overpass Monday evening – 5/10/21 – for a large fuel spill after a Toyota sedan struck a curb on the bridge. The damaged Toyota continued driving on two flat tires, leaking its fuel onto the roadway a short distance down Oak Street toward Centerville.

Crews checked the bridge for damage and brought in Speedy-Dry to help soak up most of the gasoline. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
