YARMOUTH POLICE: Home invasion suspect approached female, brandished firearm…
WEST YARMOUTH – Last Thursday – February 6, 2020 – at about 2:45 p.m., Yarmouth Police units responded to Black Duck Lane for a report of an attempted home invasion, according to YPD media statements.
The victim reported she had been approached by a male, approximately 6 feet tall, slim build, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds. The male reportedly brandished a firearm and attempted to enter her home. At the time of the alleged crime, the suspect was said to be wearing a black sweat shirt, black sweat pants, and white sneakers with a red “NIKE” logo.
The suspect fled the area on foot shortly prior to police arriving on scene. A K-9 track of the area was unsuccessful.
The case was handed over to the Yarmouth Police Detective Division and they promptly reached out to the public for assistance, requesting home surveillance footage from anyone residing in the area of the crime. It appears their efforts were fruitful as detectives were able to obtain a still image of the alleged suspect fleeing the area. The image was captured on a nearby home surveillance system.
