ROUGH DAY: Wareham Woman struck by car, then arrested for warrant out of Wichita…
WAREHAM – Tuesday – March 12, 2019 – at about 10:15 p.m., Wareham police officers responded to the Cranberry Highway in the vicinity of Red Brook Road for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
Officers found a female pedestrian suffering from minor injuries. They also found an active arrest warrant from Wichita, Kansas that had her name on it.
Warham Police contacted the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas and confirmed the warrant.
“Rachel O’Donoghue, age 38, of East Wareham, was arrested by Officers Justin Silveira and Blaise Lalli, and transported to Tobey Hospital under police guard,” according to a WPD media statement.
After treatment for what were described as ‘minor injuries,’ O’Donohue was brought to Wareham Police Headquarters where she held without bail pending a court appearance on Wednesday morning.
Ms. O’Donoghue was charged with being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
