WOMAN TRANSPORTED AFTER CRASH CLOSES MAIN STREET HYANNIS [HN PHOTOS]
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – Barnstable police patrol officers discovered a two vehicle collision after hearing a loud crash in the downtown area this evening.
Shortly before 9:00 p.m. first responders, including two ambulances, responded to the intersection of Main Street and High School Road for an accident with injuries.
Main Street was completely closed down as officials worked the scene.
The adult female occupant of a vehicle with moderate to heavy damage was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The occupants of a second vehicle were evaluated on scene but were not expected to be transported at the time of this report.
Traffic was moderate in the area as nearby schools were hosting student functions.
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. And a member of the sheriff’s crime scene investigation unit assisted by taking photos of the scene.
