Woman wakes to ‘unknown female’ in her living room…
Hyannis – At 1:51 early this morning a woman on Spruce Street awoke and found a strange unknown female sound asleep on her living room sofa. A call was made to the Barnstable Police and several cars, including Shift Supervisor Lieutenant John Walker were immediately dispatched to a one family home on Spruce Street in Hyannis.
While calling police the woman on the sofa suddenly tried to prevent the victim from talking, grabbing the phone and throwing it. The dispatcher announced to responding squad cars that the call had abruptly gone dead after what sounded like a struggle. A callback to the home was unsuccessful.
Police cruisers arrived just moments later…
… and one officer radioed “We’re all set here!”
Maria Quiroz, 25-years-old, was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Intimidation of a Witness, plus two outstanding warrants.
She was transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking at 2:08am.
Quiroz was notably intoxicated and confused according to a report read by Barnstable Police Sergeant Thomas Twomey.
