YARMOUTH – [SEE OFFICIAL UPDATE BELOW] – Multiple officers rushed to the scene after a report of an “ongoing assault” with a knife, involving employees at the UPS warehouse on Ansel Hallet Road [at about 5:30 a.m.] this morning.
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, there was a call for additional officers due to the amount of people at the scene.
HN arrived and was rolling on video just as officers were taking the suspect into custody and walking him out to an awaiting cruiser.
Rescue was not needed at the scene.
The suspect was arrested and transported back to Yarmouth Police Headquarters for booking, while other officers remained on scene continuing to investigate.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit was also called to the scene to assist Yarmouth police officers.

OFFICIAL UPDATE – YPD MEDIA STATEMENT: On Friday, November 22, 2019 at 5:30AM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the United Parcel Service shipping facility at 131 Ansel Hallet Road in West Yarmouth regarding a disturbance between employees involving a knife.
Upon arrival, Patrol Officers observed 20 people standing outside and were advised that the suspect was inside the building.
Officers found the suspect inside the building, searched him for weapons, and secured him.
The on-scene investigation determined that the suspect and another employee became involved in an argument. During the dispute, the suspect held a knife high over his head and threatened the other man. After the threat, the man threw the knife under a metal shelf.
Officers located the knife and it is being processed and held as evidence.
The suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters for booking, and subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
