PIZZA BURN: Passenger accidentally dropped hot slice on driver’s lap… [HN PHOTO]
SOUTH YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police responded to Station Ave earlier this evening for reports of a vehicle wedged between a tree and a fire hydrant.
The crash happened in the area of Stop and Shop. Other than a pizza burned lap, both teenage passengers were not hurt.
According to one of the teens, they had just picked up a hot pie at a local pizza parlor. While driving north on Station Ave, a hot slice slid out of the box and onto the driver’s lap. The passenger had been holding the flimsy box near to the center console when it suddenly tipped it’s contents causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Both teens were very polite and cooperative with police. According to police sources on scene, it was a legitimate accident. No citations were issued.
The driver did not require medical attention for his pizza burn. The vehicle, however, needed to be towed from the scene.
