HN PHOTOS: Suspicious drunk not a burglar, cops determine…

YARMOUTH – Police officers responding to a report of an attempted breaking and entering spotted a man staggering at Seaview Ave and Route 28 shortly after midnight last evening. A nearby resident reported a suspicious man had just entered her gated yard and tried to open her backdoor. Unable to open the locked door, the man reportedly meandered elsewhere, away from her property. Officers decided to take the extremely intoxicated man into protective custody. He was highly disoriented and uncertain of where he was. (He did, however, seem fairly certain he was in the Town of Yarmouth.) The call was changed from an attempted “B&E residential” to a suspicious person.

* All meandering midnight drunks are presumed to be innocent until actually charged and found guilty of a crime in a court of law.
