Police locate suicidal man spurting blood from self-inflicted stab wounds… provide emergency first aid…
The following is the actual YPD press statement:
On Monday, December 26, 2016 at approximately 11:00AM Yarmouth Police Officers responded to a home on Hidden Acres Road regarding a man who had stabbed himself and ran off.
Patrol Officers arrived at the home and confirmed that a 27-year-old despondent man had argued with his girlfriend and left the home on foot after stabbing himself in the stomach stating he was going to “find a hole somewhere and die.”
Yarmouth Police Officers were able to locate the man walking nearby on Winslow Gray Road with blood spurting from his neck and his stomach area.
The subject was provided emergency first aid at the scene and transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department where he was treated for the physical wounds as well as mental illness and is expected to recover.
